Nairo Alexander Quintana Rojas, son of Luis Quintana
and Eloísa Rojas, was born in Tunja, capital of the department of Boyacá. His
childhood and adolescence took place in the village of La Concepción in the
municipality of Cómbita. He is a cyclist of Colombian route. He is a member of
the Spanish team Movistar Team. During his professional career he has run in
the teams Boyacá is for Vivirla and Café de Colombia / Colombia is Passion.
In the year 2012 is contracted by the Spanish team
Movistar, achieving important triumphs as the Vuelta a Murcia. During the
season of 2013. Nairo stands out much more in his race as a cyclist achieving
the triumph in the Vuelta to the Basque Country, also the Vuelta to Burgos and
the subchampionship in the Tour de France where also it gained a stage. In 2014
he wins the Giro d'Italia. In 2016 he achieved his most outstanding season of
his sports career, as he achieved important victories such as winning the Tour
of Catalonia, the Tour de Romandía, the South Route, again repeated podium in
the third place of the Tour de France, and finally manages to win The return to
Spain .
